In S353,S1789,and HR2309 there are provisions to annihilate postal unions and make current and future workers dependent upon their pay to 2 NEW Authorities who could over ride union contracts IF they deemed that the financial goals set by these bills hadn’t been met . IN ADDITION ONE OF THE GOALS IS TO STOP COMPENSATION FOR INJURED FEDERAL WORKERS once they become 65. Collins in particular has been diligent in her attempts to have all those over 65 who are currently receiving compensation for work injuries covered under FECA to be removed from compensation and placed on retirement which would likely place most, if not all, of the 3000 into the poverty class. The compensation for 2000 of those over 65 is paid by the USPS so there can be no claim that taxpayers are supporting their work related compensation. Yet with such diligence by some in Congress(NOT ALL) to deplete benefits and income of the working class and yet give bailout money to AIG,Goldman-Sacks,and Banks that overreached (gambled) their abilities by taking advantage of the Glass-Steagall act being rescinded in 1999. Surprisingly, nothing was mentioned about the smaller banks, 2/3 of them doing fine because they didn’t partake of risky, certain to fail activities.
